Providence Pride Parade
June 20

The threat of a slight drizzle provided an opportunity to march with our rainbow umbrellas opened wide! Our custom designed shirts spelled out our message, "Stand on the side of Love!" We met in front of the State House for a group photo and to await the start of our march in the parade. Other UUs from South County, Bell Street Chapel, and Providence marched together in solidarity.

There were LOTS of people in the parade - here's a group of young people getting ready to march.

Our position was right behind the marching band. They were great! Here are four of the 50-60 member troupe.

The streets were lined with people. The crowd numbered in the tens of thousands.

Crowd at the parking deck across from Providence Performing Arts Cener, which served as the reviewing stand for dignitaries. We spotted Senator Whitehouse, Attorney General Lynch, and Mayor Cicini.
