General Information
Fees:
We at Channing Memorial Church hope to assist you in making your wedding a most memorable and truly unique experience for your chosen day. Below is some information that we believe will help you.
Church Rental
$750
Entire fee must be paid in two increments, or in full,

To make reservations for a church wedding, contact the church office secretary directly at: (401)-846-0643. The Secretary is in on Tuesday, 1-5 p.m., Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The church office does have voice mail and e-mail (channing1@mindspring.com). When you make your check(s) out, please include your date of wedding and the groom's full name, then make it out to:

(401) 849-2238Flash photography and lighted videography are allowed in the church, but care should be taken less they become disruptive to your wedding. We suggest you or your photographer speak with the minister before the ceremony regarding arrangements.
The rehearsal generally takes place the evening before the wedding at 6 p.m. Please arrange with the Sexton and the minister who is officiating.
The church aisle is 72 feet long. There are 22 rows of pews with seating capacity for approximately 425 persons.

From the Church Sexton:
It is your responsibility to contact the Sexton for arrangements for your wedding. The Sexton fee is $50 for opening and closing the church on the day of the rehearsal and wedding. The church will be open one hour prior to the service for the florist. An additional $10 fee is charged for opening the church at any other time. If you wish your flowers to be delivered more than 1 hour before the wedding, please clear it and make your arrangements with the Sexton for accepting the delivery at the church.
For safety sake, we request that wedding guests refrain from throwing rice or bird seed. Flower petals are acceptable.
Please do not use tape to fasten pew decorations.
It is important to choose a person to care for your candles after the wedding if you have the Unity Ceremony.
Note: Please contact the Sexton at (401)-849-7569 on the Monday of the week of your wedding. At this time, we can confirm your schedule.
Parking Facilities:
The Elks Lodge, next door, has granted Channing Memorial Church permission to use their parking lot, provided they do not have an event scheduled. Contact Mr. Frank Kane to check the Elks calendar of events. Parking requests should be submitted to Mr. Michael Kane, the Elks Lodge Steward, at (401)-846-0815 no earlier than 30 days prior to the event. There is a requested donation of $5 per vehicle. The number of vehicles accomodated is limited. Some street parking is available.

Wedding Services
Sample wedding services are available from the officiating minister. Most Unitarian Universalist ministers are very open to collaborating with the couple on the creation of a service.
