Safety

Every effort is made to ensure the safety of Channing's children. Religious Education volunteers must undergo a criminal background check and sign a Code of Ethics before leading our children. We strive to create the safest possible environment for our children to learn and grow. After each Sunday morning class, an approved caregiver must sign out each child 5th grade and under. Parents are responsible for their children after signing them out from Religious Education classes, in Fellowship and in the Playground. Please help guide children to be respectful and safe. The entire community is teaching our children and youth through our care, attitude and actions.

In the event of a fire, teachers will bring the children and youth to the statue of William Ellery Channing across from the sanctuary in Touro Park. Parents will let the teacher know that they have reconnected with their children.
