It is a great way to get to know members of our community. Volunteer opportunities can be for one service or many.

Volunteers help to...

  • Set up and clean up for Soulful Supper
  • Welcome people at either the supper or service
  • Working on publicity, hanging flyers, etc...
  • Setting up for Soulful Sundown
  • Acting as a Soulful Sundown production assistant
  • and more!

Performers
As a musician, you probably know that music can transform people and the world. Music can challenge, inspire, and carry us through moments of intense grief. Music heals and helps us find a voice we might not otherwise find. Music can unite people and tear down walls that divide us. It is transformative.

Music is a central element in the service and we are looking for musicians, bands and other artists who want to share the meaning and substance in their music and lyrics. We're looking to create a high quality, spirituality centered service, which draws on the talents of local, regional and national performers. If you're interested in performing at Soulful Sundown you may send a demo tape/cd or video to:

Soulful Sundown Demo
Channing Memorial Church
135 Pelham Street
Newport, RI 02840-3131

Please include your name, phone number, email address and a brief bio. If you would like your demo tape returned please include a self addressed, stamped envelope.
